Ivy Tech Indy/IU Indianapolis Dual Admission Program

Beginning in fall 2024, new freshmen enrolled in an associate degree program at Ivy Tech Community College can automatically be admitted at IU Indianapolis under the Ivy Tech/IU Indianapolis Dual Admission Program. This guaranteed admissions program provides increased access to services and a seamless transfer to IU Indianapolis as you complete your program at Ivy Tech.

Everything You Need To Know

  • Dual Admission

    A new student enrolled in Ivy Tech Community College is admitted into IU Indianapolis but does not enroll in IU Indianapolis courses until the student graduates with an associate degree. Throughout this program, students will receive cooperative advising.

    Cooperative Advising

    The dual admission program provides enhanced advisement and transition support services by both institutions to the student.

    • Attendance at IU Indianapolis events relevant to their degree and interest area
    • Financial aid counseling
    • Access to the IU Indianapolis library, bookstore, athletic events, and events that do not have fees for admission
    • $1,000 transfer scholarship which can be renewed for an additional year depending upon academic standing.

  • Guaranteed Admission to IU Indianapolis will require the following:

    • Students will have completed an associate degree at Ivy Tech Community College.
    • Students must have earned a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher in the associate's degree at Ivy Tech.
  • Students will need to be in good standing to maintain eligibility. Student participation is subject to Indiana University's behavioral disclosure policies. Under these policies, a student has a continuing obligation to inform the University of any formal disciplinary action or legal charges and/or convictions.
