The College continually explores new ways to improve and manage your employee benefits. Our primary goal is to provide you with the opportunity to receive quality healthcare services at a reasonable cost. The College offers multiple health plans that offer access to a broad network of providers through the Anthem Blue Access PPO network.
All in-network preventive services are paid at 100%, regardless of which plan you choose.
Your physician must code the office visit or service as preventive to assure that you will not be charged a copay or coinsurance.
A list of preventive services can be found in your Plan Summary.
The Basic Consumer Driven Health Plan (CDHP) is one of the health plans paired with a Health Savings Account (HSA). This plan features a higher deductible, but with lower premiums than the other 2 plans. One of the main differences between a CDHP and a traditional PPO is that you are responsible for paying the full cost of medical expenses until the deductible is reached. There are no copays for office visits or prescriptions.
The Enhanced Consumer Driven Health Plan (CDHP) is one of the health plans paired with a Health Savings Account (HSA). This plan features a lower deductible, but with premiums in between the other 2 plans. One of the main differences between a CDHP and a traditional PPO is that you are responsible for paying the full cost of medical expenses until the deductible is reached. There are no copays for office visits or prescriptions.
The College partially funds an HSA on behalf of eligible Choice Plan participants. An HSA is an account that is owned by the participant and is used to pay for qualified health expenses. The funds carry over from year to year. The funds earn tax-free interest and are portable (meaning if you leave the College, you do not forfeit the contributions or interest earnings).
The College has partnered with Chard Snyder for our HSA administration using HSA Advantage.
The HSA summary document helps you to understand the benefit, qualified expenses, details regarding IRS maximums, and eligibility.
- Closed to new participants on December 31, 2022. The Standard plan is our Traditional style health plan (PPO). This plan features low dollar copays for medical and pharmacy, with a lower deductible, but with higher premiums.
Sydney Health is an app provided by Anthem and is available to all employees enrolled in either the Choice Plan or the Standard Plan at no additional cost. The Sydney Health app makes it easy to find care and check costs, monitor claims, review benefits, and view and use a digital ID card. There are even options to promote a healthy lifestyle and tools to help participants stay motivated.
Download the Sydney Health app on Google Play or the App Store.
Machine Readable Files
The Consolidated Appropriations Act and Transparency in Coverage regulations require health insurers and group health plans to create machine readable files that contain the negotiated rates for in-network providers and allowable amounts derived from historical claims for out-of-network providers and make those files publicly available. A machine readable file is a digital representation of data or information in a file that can be imported and read by a computer system for further processing without human intervention.
The link will allow you to search for files using Ivy Tech's Employer Identification Number (EIN) 32-1180631.
When using the search option, the page will display links to several files, including:
- Applicable In-Network Negotiated Rate Files
- Out-of-Network Allowed Amount Files
- Out-of-Area Rates (applicable when members use providers in non-Anthem states.)
