From the Bronx to the Fort
Odessa Aytch and her mother moved to Fort Wayne in 2000 with the hopes of finding more opportunities and a better future. Aytch will be the first in her family to graduate from college.

"A Matter of Survival"
Ivy Tech alumnus Francisco Bolivar moved to the United States from Venezuela in 2001 to pursue his education. At the time, he did not speak English and moved a great distance away from his family. This May, he graduated with his bachelor's degree in Public Affairs from IPFW.

After raising four children, alumna Yenna Nelson wanted more for herself. Through motivation from her children, she chose to seek an education and career in Medical Assisting.
