Ivy Tech Terre Haute offers many types of scholarships including some exclusively for high school seniors or for eligible students seeking a specific career objective. A few scholarships are listed below that require a separate application, but many more are available.

Elevate: Minority Scholars Achievement Program

The Ivy Tech ELEVATE Minority Scholars Achievement Program scholarship will be awarded to ten African-American students. Scholarship recipients will be awarded a $2000 scholarship each year at Ivy Tech Community College Terre Haute. The program is designed to support individual student needs. Scholars will be challenged to reflect on and analyze their own learning strategies, study skills, and other professional skills that will help them succeed in the classroom and beyond. Scholars will meet monthly for one-on-one coaching as well as special programming introducing them to campus and community resources.

  • African-American students who currently attend or plan to attend Ivy Tech Community College - Terre Haute
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Scholarships for high school seniors


Thrive On! Scholarship

This scholarship encourages students to continue their leadership development at Ivy Tech by participating in Student Leadership Academy and as an Ivy Tech Student Ambassador. Selection criteria includes the following:

• At least two years of high school club participation (Key Club, JAG, Interact, DECA, etc.)
• Engagement and involvement in activities that support the local community
• Evidence of career exploration (i.e. internship, employment, completion of ICE, etc.)
• Special consideration will be given to students who have high school attendance records of 90% or higher.
• $1,000 annually

Chancellor Scholarship

• For students who will graduate high school with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or in the top 10% of their class
• Covers the full cost of tuition, technology fees, and books for four semesters
• Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA
• Must enroll in at least 12 credit hours of Ivy Tech coursework each semester

You will also need to complete the free Ivy Tech application and complete scholarship application steps by March 1.

Academic/Technical Honors Scholarship

• Must receive an academic honors or technical honors diploma
• $750 a semester
• Renewable for four semesters
• Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA
• Must enroll in at least 6 credit hours of Ivy Tech coursework each semester

Laptop Scholarship

This scholarship can be awarded in conjunction with any other scholarships.

• Selection will be based on a rubric of essay questions, high school GPA, dual credit, and Ivy Tech GPA if applicable.

Other Scholarships


Duke Energy Scholarship 

The Duke Energy Scholarship is generously provided by the Duke Energy Foundation for individuals pursuing a career in addiction services in west central Indiana.

Workforce Ready Grant

Ivy Tech certificates can help you start a new career quickly. If eligible, you could earn an eligible Ivy Tech certificates, paid for by grant funding through Indiana's Workforce Ready Grant.
