About the Scholarship

Scholarships and Training for High School and Adult Students Pursuing Careers in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Quality

Lilly Scholars @ Ivy Tech is a scholarship program supporting students who are pursuing credentials in pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality, or related industries. The Lilly Scholars @ Ivy Tech will receive financial assistance and experiential learning opportunities, including opportunities to apply for summer programs and/or work-study programs. The program will also support Lilly Scholars with customized education and training as they earn their manufacturing certifications and associate-level manufacturing degree options.

The pharmaceutical manufacturing industry contributes significantly to Indiana's economy, providing high-paying jobs and driving innovation to help patients. Through the creation of this program, Ivy Tech and Lilly will collaborate to improve the lives of Indiana residents and beyond by creating industry networking and hands-on learning experiences and opportunities to apply for paid internships, work/study programs, apprenticeships, or full-time roles.

SCHOLARS WILL HAVE OPPORTUNITIES TO:

  • Network with industry leaders and mentors
  • Participate in industry experiences, compete for paid internships and/or apprenticeships
  • Apply for full-time employment after graduation, if applicable

Additional Support

All Ivy Tech students also have access to IvyCares, a wraparound service that provides additional support in areas outside of the classroom. Its offices can help students with needs like transportation, food insecurity, mental health, and emergency funds through campus and community resources.

Scholarship Requirements

  • Students must pursue a course of study at Ivy Tech Community College that leads to certificates or degrees in the following programs of study:
    • Biotechnology, including Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing
    • Smart Manufacturing & Digital Integration
    • Industrial Technology, including Industrial Mechanical, Industrial Electrical, Process Operations, and Welding
  • Students must maintain at least a 2.5/4.0 cumulative GPA to receive the scholarship each term.
  • Students are top academic performers and must indicate they intend to work in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry after receiving their certificate or degree and that they will consider Lilly as a future employer after graduation.
  • Students must complete a scholarship application.
  • At least 60% of the scholarships are intended to be given to students who live in Marion County, Indiana, Hendricks County, Indiana, Clinton County, Indiana, or Boone County, Indiana.
  • In an effort to create a diverse pool of recipients from a broad range of backgrounds, the pool of potential recipients shall include students who are underrepresented in the Ivy Tech student body population or Indiana’s workforce population (as referenced in the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).  Priority will be given to students who (1) have overcome obstacles such as socioeconomic or educational disadvantage or (2) are first generation in their family to attend college.
Scholarship Amount
  • Lilly Scholarships at Ivy Tech will cover all tuition and assessed fees at Ivy Tech, including the textbook fees, consumable fees, and certification exam fees.
  • Lilly Scholarships at Ivy Tech are not refundable to the student.
  • Lilly Scholarships at Ivy Tech can be renewed for up to eight semesters, as long as eligibility requirements are met.
