IvyCares is here to assist you with finding additional campus and community support throughout your academic journey. Sometimes called “wraparound services,” IvyCares focuses on helping students connect with resources in the following areas: emergency transportation assistance, food security, mental health resources, technology assistance, and emergency aid funding.

Areas Where IvyCares Can Help You!

- Emergency Aid funds can assist students confronting unforeseen financial circumstances. Eligible Ivy Tech students can receive up to $500.00 in emergency aid during an academic year and a total of $1000.00 during the lifespan of a student at Ivy Tech. Students must provide detailed explanation of all extenuating circumstances and all supportive documentation.
Student eligibility requirements:
- Student must be enrolled in at least six credit hours when they request funds.
- Student must have an established grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher after completing first semester.
- Student must be in good standing with the college.
Keep this in mind before you apply:
- Emergency aid funds are not to be used to pay tuition fees.
- Have you explored all other options to meet your financial needs, such as:
- Community resources (Trustees office, United Way, Human Services, etc.)
- Ivy Assist (https://ivyassist.findhelp.com/)

Community Cupboard:
- Ivy Tech students are eligible to receive 15 food items and toiletries, including dental care, baby diapers, feminine hygiene and more per week. Additionally, student can stop by daily to grab a snack before class.
- Hours of Operation:
- Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00PM

Sharing Shelves:
- Ivy Tech students have access to food and clothing items at any of our sharing shelf locations through campus. We expect that student take at max 3 -4 food and clothing items from the shelves.
*This is also a great place to donate food and clothing items. Please email us at fortwayne-ivycares@ivytech.edu to find out what items are currently most needed.
- Hours of Operation:
- Most building open at 7am and closing is based on the last course of the day offered in the building. Most days the buildings close at 7pm.

- Coliseum Building, North Campus: Technology, Harshman Hall and Student Life Building
Food Vouchers:
- Eligible student can receive a one per semester 25lb Food Voucher from Community Harvest Food Bank. Please email us at fortwayne-ivycares@ivytech.edu for additional information.
Basics Bank (Kosciusko County (Warsaw) Campus):
- Kosciusko County (Warsaw) campus students can access food toiletries and clothing items. For additional information please contact Tim Keyes tkeyes@ivytech.edu

Loaner Laptop Program:
- The Loaner Laptop program is meant to be a temporary solution for students until they can secure their own personal laptop. Laptops must be return at the end of each semester.

Loan to Own Laptop Program – Kosciusko County (Warsaw) Campus
- Eligible students could receive a used but working laptop and they are able to permanently keep the laptop if the student continuously works towards completing at least 18 credit hours and maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher.

Hot Spot Loaner Program:
- The Hot Spot Loaner Program is meant to be a temporary solution for students until they can secure their own internet connection. Hot Spots must be return at the end of each semester.

YMCA Childcare:
- In partnership with YMCA Child Services, we currently offer childcare resources on campus. This facility can hold up to 18 children and it first comes first serve basis. Childcare voucher:
The Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF), a federally funded program that provides childcare assistance to eligible low-income families, provides assistance in the form of electronic vouchers that pay for all or some of an eligible family’s childcare expenses directly to the childcare provider.

On Campus Counseling Services:
- The Fort Wayne Campus currently offers free counseling services with an on-site Mental Health Counselor. Our Mental Health Counselor, Lisa Bartelheim brings 12 years of experience and is here to support you.
