Don Wood 80/20 Foundation Endowed Scholarship


Funded by the Don Wook Foundation to support students in the Technology division

Don Wood and Dar Richardson


This scholarship is for students enrolled in the Technology Division. 
To be eligible for this award:

  • Students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher;
  • Students must be enrolled in their second year of study;
  • Students must submit a 200–300-word essay addressing what the student understands about advanced manufacturing; and
  • Students need a written recommendation from a Technology Division faculty member or a manufacturing manager in a supervisory role.

Preference is given to students who are Advanced Automation and Robotics Technology majors. Additional preference is given to students who do not qualify for Pell Grants or other forms of government financial aid.

Gene Haas Scholarship- Warsaw

The scholarship was created to help Warsaw students in the Machine Tool Technology Program

Gene Haas Foundation


For students in the Machine Tool Technology Program at the Warsaw Campus that have completed 6 credit hours or more of core program classes and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Preference will be given to those student who complete the additional requirements:
Must provide college ready high school transcripts or equivalency prior to enrollment

  • Must have completed FAFSA on file with Ivy Tech
  • Provide one letter of recommendation from a non-relative community leader, teacher, or employer.
  • Prepare a 300-500 word (approximately one half page) essay.

Prepare a 300-500 word (approximately one half page) essay on one of the following topics:

  • Why do you want to be a CNC machinist?
  • Explain the importance of CNC machining in today’s society?
  • What are the most important issues facing the CNC machining industry today?
  • Describe your most meaningful achievements and how they relate to your future goals?
