Healthcare SpecialistHealthcare Specialist students earn a variety of specialized certificates and become employable in less than a year, before earning their associate degree. Certificates quickly prepare graduates for work in Certified Nursing Aide (CNA), Dementia Care, Electrocardiography (EKG), Phlebotomy, Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) and more. The Healthcare Specialist program is also where students who plan to apply for one of the limited enrollment healthcare programs get started.

Kinesiology and Exercise ScienceKinesiology and Exercise Science certificates prepare students for work as an exercise professional in the fitness and wellness industry, before earning their associate degree. Students will be eligible to sit for three National Certification Exams, including Certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, and Certified Wellness Coach. Graduates work in personal training, fitness center and sports management, recreational sports, and related careers. |

Medical AssistingThe Medical Assisting program is hands-on and prepares students to sit for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam. Students earn certificates and become employable in less than a year, before earning their associate degree. Courses focus on patient care, vital signs, injections, medical and insurance coding, and charting. Medical Assisting graduates are in high-demand and work in medical offices and ambulatory care.

NursingNursing (ASN, RN) and Practical Nursing (LPN) programs prepare graduates for well-paying, high-demand careers caring for patients. Students learn through lab simulations, classwork, and clinical, hands-on practice. Required general education courses may be taken online. In 2019, Ivy Tech Bloomington ranked #1 in the state by PracticalNursing.org out of all other Indiana Practical Nursing programs. In 2021, the Associate of Science in Nursing, RN, program was ranked #3 in the state by Nursing Schools Almanac. More than 90% of our graduates pass their licensure exams on the first try. |

Optician & Eye CareThis program prepares students to sit for from the National Opticianry Competency Exam and the Contact Lens Registry Exam for certification, before earning their associate degree. Graduates work as an Optician in an optometrist’s office or other eye care clinic. Opticians are part of the eye care team that measure depth perception and field of vision in patients, and work with eyeglasses and contact lenses. |

Paramedic ScienceIn just one course, students prepare to sit for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification exam that qualifies them for employment, before earning an associate degree. Graduates of the program can sit for the National Registry Paramedic exam that qualifies them to work as a paramedic on ambulances or with firefighters, in hospital emergency rooms, and the wilderness. |

Radiation TherapyIvy Tech Bloomington offers the only accredited radiation therapy associate degree program in the State of Indiana. Our state-of-the-art Virtual Environment for Radiotherapy Training (VERT) simulation lab is among select programs across the United States. Radiation Therapy is used treat cancer and graduates are eligible to sit for the national registry exam to become qualified to work as radiation therapists at cancer centers, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. |

Respiratory TherapyThe respiratory therapy associate degree program prepares graduates for well-paying careers as respiratory therapists. They provide treatment for breathing disorders in patients ranging from infants to seniors, while working alongside doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Graduates sit for the national exam to become qualified to work in hospitals, home care, rehabilitation centers, and related facilities. |

Therapeutic MassageIvy Tech Bloomington offers a 25-credit hour Therapeutic Massage certificate, where students participate in a student-run massage clinic. Graduates are eligible to sit for the state licensing exam that qualifies them for employment as massage therapists. Graduates work in spas, wellness clinics, and other healthcare facilities. |
