To apply for financial aid, submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). While students may apply for federal financial aid throughout the year, Ivy Tech has established the following financial aid processing priority dates for each enrollment period. In addition, students that have all of their financial aid requirements completed by the following bookstore priority date will have their aid available to use at the bookstore the first day it opens:

Term Bookstore Priority Date Priority Date
Fall (First 8 Weeks) June 15 July 1
Fall (Second 8 Weeks) August 15 September 1
Spring (First 8 Weeks) November 15 December 1
Spring (Second 8 - Weeks) January 15 February 1
Summer April 15 May 1

In order to ensure priority processing and "on-time" delivery of eligible financial aid, students must apply and return all requested forms/verification paperwork by the priority processing date. Meeting the priority date gives Ivy Tech the necessary time to award your financial aid by the start of the semester. It is recommended that you begin the financial aid application process at least 3-4 weeks before the priority processing date (for example, on or before mid-June for the following Fall semester).

If you have already filed a 2021-22 FAFSA, you do not need to re-file for the December 1 priority date or the May 1 priority date.  The dates above apply only if you have not filed the 2021-22 FAFSA for the 2021-22 academic year, or if you are planning to file your 2022-23 FAFSA for the 2022-23 academic year.

If the semester priority processing date is missed, a student's application will still be accepted and processed, however, your aid will most likely not be posted by the first day of classes. You can still take advantage of paying your tuition with a payment plan in order to meet the College's payment deadline for tuition and fees.
