To apply for financial aid, submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). While students may apply for federal financial aid throughout the year, Ivy Tech has established the following financial aid processing priority dates for each enrollment period. In addition, students that have all of their financial aid requirements completed by the following bookstore priority date will have their aid available to use at the bookstore the first day it opens:
|Term||Bookstore Priority Date||Priority Date|
|Fall||June 30||July 15|
|Spring||November 15||December 1|
|Summer||April 15||May 1|
In order to ensure priority processing and "on-time" delivery of eligible financial aid, students must apply and return all requested forms/verification paperwork by the priority processing date. Meeting the priority date gives Ivy Tech the necessary time to award your financial aid by the start of the semester. It is recommended that you begin the financial aid application process at least 3-4 weeks before the priority processing date (for example, on or before mid-June for the following Fall semester).
If you have already filed a 2018-2019 FAFSA, you do not need to re-file for the December 1st priority date or May 1st priority dates. The dates above only apply if you have not filed the 2018-2019 FAFSA for the 2018-2019 academic year, or if you are looking to file your 2019-2020 FAFSA for the 2019-2020 academic year.
If the semester priority processing date is missed, a student's application will still be accepted and processed, however, your aid will most likely not be posted by the first day of classes. You can still take advantage of paying your tuition with a payment plan in order to meet meet the College's payment deadline for tuition and fees.
