IvyCares is helping the entire Indianapolis campus community start the academic year with resources to support their needs in and out of the classroom.

From free food and clothing to reduced-cost transportation, IvyCares connects students with resources that can help remove barriers and keep them focused on their education. Here’s what the Ivy Tech Indianapolis community should know for Fall 2026.

Campus Food Pantry

The IvyCares food pantry reopens Monday, Aug. 31.

The pantry will temporarily operate from Bowen Commons in the Illinois Fall Creek Center (IFC), located at 2535 N. Capitol Ave, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and is available to students, faculty, and staff.

IvyCares operates the campus pantry as a choice pantry, meaning visitors can select the food and household items that best fit their individual needs rather than receiving a pre-selected package.

Folks visiting the pantry should bring a reusable shopping bag and their cell phone with access to their MyIvy account for enrollment and employment verification.

Free Clothing Access

Koda’s Closet – IvyCares free clothing closet – provides clothes for students who need something to wear for class, work, an interview, or everyday wear.

This fall, Koda’s Closet will operate as a pop-up on the first floor of the Conference Center and Culinary Institute on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. The first pop-up will take place on Thursday, Sept. 10, with the closet open from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The campus community can support Koda’s Closet by donating clean, gently used clothing. Drop off donations at IFC Room 166 on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Transportation Support

Students can purchase a 31-day IndyGo bus pass at 50% off ($47.50) through the Bursar’s office.

With two IndyGo Red Line stops by campus, we encourage students with limited transportation options to consider the city bus, a trusted Ivy Tech partner. Reliable transportation can make a significant difference in a student’s ability to be consistent.

Technology Assistance

While IvyCares no longer operates a technology loaner program, students still have options for finding technology assistance on campus.

Information about technology resources and partner agencies will remain posted on the IvyCares Resource Board outside of IFC Room 166. You can also find a list of several nonprofit and community organizations that offer technology resources here

Ivy Tech Community Resource Fair

On Wednesday, Oct. 7, students will have an opportunity to connect with Indianapolis community organizations and learn about resources that can help them navigate challenges like finding affordable housing and food, and navigating healthcare, employment, transportation and mental health support.

Wednesday, October 7

10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

At Ivy Tech, we know college can bring challenges beyond coursework, and IvyCares makes sure students don’t have to figure it out on their own. IvyCares connects students with resources that support their ability to persist and succeed. Students, faculty, and staff with questions about available services can visit the IvyCares team in IFC Room 166.
