To celebrate Indiana’s Women IN Tech Week, Sept. 13-20, Ivy Tech Community College Evansville will host a “Capture the Flag” style technology competition for individuals interested in technology.
The competition will be held on Friday, Sept. 18, from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at Ivy Tech’s Bower-Suhrheinrich Visual Arts Center, 3501 N. First Ave., Evansville.
Ivy Tech Mission: Capture the Future is open to any individual high school junior-aged and older. Those interested in learning more about technology, who are curious about technology, problem-solving or leadership, as well as prospective students, current students, career changers, working professionals, and community members interested in technology, are invited to participate.
No prior coding or technology experience is necessary.
Individuals will spend the half-day competition solving real tech mysteries in teams. They will investigate suspicious email, fix broken code, question a database to catch an intruder, and outsmart an AI guarding a secret. Get hands-on with cybersecurity, software development, data science, and AI. No experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to dig in.
Lunch will be provided.
