Ivy Tech welcomes its spring and summer 2026 and December 2025 graduates to attend our Commencement ceremony and participate in the celebration. However, you must apply to graduate in order to participate. To Apply to Graduate, students need to visit MyIvy and click "Apply to Graduate" listed under "Tools & Resources." The deadline to apply is April 10. 

There is no cost to attend Ivy Tech’s Commencement, and no tickets are required for your guests. However, students must wear a black cap and gown to participate. The deadline to order a cap and gown is April 7. Your cap and gown will be shipped directly to your home address.

You must have a cap and gown as well as a tassel in order to participate in the ceremony. Students who do not have a cap and gown will not be permitted to participate, so pay close attention to the ordering deadlines. If you require assistance in acquiring your cap and gown, please fill out this form.

2nd/Final Deadline (may incur late fee): April 13
*Your cap and gown will be shipped to your home address within 2 weeks.

The tassel color you wear depends on your highest credential achieved. Please check the chart below to see what tassel color to wear. 

Please note that diplomas will be mailed out after degree completion. Diplomas will not be distributed at Commencement. Your diploma will be sent to the address that you provided when filling out your graduation application.
