Alert Alpha: Tell Alpha What’s Going On!

Hey Wolf Pack — you know Alpha’s always got your back!

Now, there’s an easy new way to let him know when something doesn’t feel right on campus or in the classroom. Whether it’s a concern about how you’re treated, a policy issue, or something that’s affecting your learning experience, you can “Alert Alpha” and tell him what’s going on.

What Is Alert Alpha?

Alert Alpha is Ivy Tech Lafayette’s reporting form powered by Maxient — the same system used for student concerns and “See Something, Say Something” reports.

  • Think of it as a way to message Alpha directly when:
  • You feel a faculty or staff member is treating you unfairly.
  • You believe bias, retaliation, or discrimination may have impacted your experience.
  • You’ve witnessed behavior that violates the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities.
  • You’ve experienced harassment, disrespect, or inappropriate comments.
  • Your approved accommodation or support needs aren’t being honored.

Even if something seems small, it’s worth sharing. If it’s not reported, it’s not documented — and without documentation, Alpha and the College can’t fix it.

What Alpha Needs to Know

When you “Alert Alpha,” the form will ask for a few details to help him understand and respond:

About You

  • Your name, phone, and email (you can stay anonymous if you prefer)
  • What your concern is about
  • When and where it happened

Who’s Involved

  • Names or offices connected to the situation
  • Include yourself if you’re directly affected

What Happened

  • Describe what took place in your own words
  • Share what led up to it and how it’s affected your learning or work environment
  • List anyone who witnessed it or has more info
  • Say whether this is a one-time issue or something ongoing
  • Include your desired outcome

Attachments

  • You can upload screenshots, photos, emails, or other supporting files (up to 5 GB)

Once submitted, you’ll even have the option to email yourself a copy of your report.

Your Privacy and Anonymity

Alpha keeps things confidential. Your information will not be shared with anyone involved without your permission (unless required by law). If you’d like to stay anonymous, that’s totally fine — but if you add your name, someone from Ivy Tech can reach out to follow up or offer support.

To keep your report secure, avoid including detailed medical or private information about others. You can always say you’d prefer to discuss that part privately.

Why It Matters

When you “Alert Alpha,” you’re not just standing up for yourself — you’re helping strengthen our entire Wolf Pack community. Your report helps identify issues, improve systems, and make sure everyone has a fair, respectful, and safe learning environment.

So if something doesn’t feel right, don’t brush it off — Alert Alpha and let him know what’s going on. He’s here to listen, and Ivy Tech is here to help.
