Essential Skills for Managers

This course exposes and trains course participants to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities to manage others successfully.

The focus of this program is to provide a foundational base of skills for all managers using research-based best practices. This course exposes and trains course participants to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities to manage others successfully.

Upon successful completion of this course, the students will be able to:

  1. Utilize tools and skills to effectively manage teams.

  2. Develop trusting and respectful relationships with their staff.

  3. identify ways to decrease the escalation of problems or issues.

  4. Create high performance teams.

  5. Understand their strengths and how to use them with their teams.

  6. Know the benefits of using a strength-based approach.

  7. Diagnose situations and identify appropriate leadership styles and strategies.

Employee registration is coordinated by the Program Manager supporting your training. Depending on the course, employees may register in person, through an organization-provided roster, or via a self-registration link. Your Program Manager will guide you through the best option for your specific training.
