We want to make sure the classes you take are the right fit for you!

In order to help make sure we accomplish this, we need to determine your reading, writing and math skills through the assessment process.

During the Ivy Tech assessment process, we can measure where your skills are currently at in several different ways, including ACT, SAT or PSAT scores, high school GPA, previous college credit you've earned, or through the use of an assessment tool.

If you have test scores, high school transcripts or college transcripts to send, you can upload them when you apply. If you don't have them at the time you complete the application, don't worry! You have until the end of the term for which you applied to return to your application and upload your assessment documents.

You can complete assessment in any of the following ways:

Step 1 – Click the link below to return to the General Admissions Online Application page.

Step 2 - Click the link under “Need to return to an incomplete application or upload assessment document?”

Step 3 – Enter the email address you submitted on your application to have a link sent to you.

Step 4 – Retrieve the email sent to you and click on the link to return to you application.

Step 5 – Select that you have transcripts or test scores to upload, and proceed with submitting your documents.

Step 6 – Wait for your email, text and letter letting you know that your scores or transcripts have been reviewed.  The process should take less than a week.

These documents for assessment do not need to be official, so you are able to send in a variety of formats.  However, please make sure your documents clearly display the following information:

  • Student's Name
  • Name of Institution (for high school and college transcripts)
  • Degree Awarded (for college transcripts)
  • Coursework and Grades (for high school and college transcripts)
  • Cumulative GPA (for high school transcripts)
  • Date of Test (SAT, ACT, and PSAT scores)
  • Test Scores (SAT, ACT and PSAT scores)
