The Conference Center and Culinary Institute (CCCI) at Ivy Tech Indianapolis recently transformed into a candlelit venue for Soulful Sounds, a one-night-only concert featuring the New York City-based duo Acute Inflections.

Soulful Sounds, held inside the CCCI ballroom, was an intimate evening of music, laughter, and vintage glamour inspired by the Harlem Renaissance. Attendees were encouraged to wear Gatsby-inspired attire or their own personal style, contributing to the Roaring 20s revival atmosphere.

Acute Inflections, the married duo behind the Soulful Sounds experience, has entertained more than 50,000 guests at shows across the United States and abroad. As seen on HBO and Amazon, the duo has become a favorite among audiences seeking something beyond the usual dinner-and-drinks routine.

The evening featured dynamic duets, comedy, and freestyles, with the duo’s chemistry often compared to that of Lucy and Ricky. Guests enjoyed complimentary refreshments throughout the performance, and the most stylish attendees in Harlem Renaissance attire competed for a “Jazzy Prize.”

Proceeds from ticket sales support the Renaissance Youth Center, a South Bronx-based charity that empowers inner-city youth through music education, after-school programs, and tutoring.

This event was one of several recent community-focused gatherings hosted at Ivy Tech Indianapolis, which continues to serve as a hub for cultural programming and community engagement. Just days before, the campus hosted the Girls Who Brunch Tour, a leadership and wellness event for young Hoosier girls.
