WHAT IS REVERSE TRANSFER?
Reverse Transfer is a process through which previous Ivy Tech students who transferred to a four-year institution to pursue a bachelor's can send earned college credits back to Ivy Tech to be evaluated for a possible associate degree. The program allows eligible students to combine credits they earned at Ivy Tech with credits earned from four-year school(s) and be awarded an associate degree retroactively, all while continuing to work toward their bachelor's degree.
How It Works
Ivy Tech reviews the credits a student has earned at other institutions to see if missing degree requirements have been met, and if all eligibility requirements are met, the student is conferred an associate degree in general studies or a liberal arts program without having to reenroll in Ivy Tech.

Potential Raises, Promotions & Discounts
Many employers offer raises or promotions for college degrees earned. In addition, several four-year universities offer tuition discounts to students who have earned an associate degree.
Check with your employer or your current college/university to learn more about the benefits you could receive by securing your associate degree at Ivy Tech.
HOW TO APPLY FOR REVERSE TRANSFER

Eligibility Requirements
You may be eligible for Reverse Transfer if you have:
- Completed 15 credit hours at Ivy Tech
- A GPA of 2.0 or higher at Ivy Tech
- Completed more than 60 applicable credits through Ivy Tech or other colleges/universities.
- If you are pursuing a bachelor’s degree or have recently attended another college or university, you may be eligible, as long as you have not yet received your associate or bachelor’s degree.

If You Attend a Reverse Transfer Partner Institution:
Ask your 4-year institution about its reverse transfer process. They will tell you how to opt into the process at your school.
