Code/IT Academy is a free, fast-track training program designed to help you start or advance your career in information technology (IT). In just ten weeks, you'll gain essential IT skills, prepare to earn an industry-recognized certification, and get the support you need to land a job in tech.

No prior experience is required to participate.

Program Overview

Course: CompTIA IT Tech+
Dates: Feb. 17 - April 24, 2026
Schedule: Tues & Thurs, 5:30–7 p.m.
Format: Hybrid, online Ivy Tech instruction, in-person support
Certification: Up to two exam attempts included
Extras: Hands-on guidance and career coaching
Deadline: Applications close Feb. 2, 2026

The CompTIA Tech+ Certification validates essential tech support, hardware, software, and troubleshooting skills that employers expect in entry-level IT roles. It provides a strong foundation for launching an IT career and serves as a trusted credential that helps applicants stand out in a competitive job market.

You are eligible to apply for Code/IT Academy if you are a resident of the 11-county Indiana Uplands region.

Additional Details

Students participate at community-based locations across the Indiana Uplands region, with on-site facilitators and support. Counties include:

  • Brown - Career Resource Center of Brown County
  • Crawford - The Community Foundation of Crawford County
  • Daviess - Daviess County Economic Development Corporation
  • Dubois - Jasper Public Library
  • Greene - Location TBD
  • Lawrence - StoneGate Arts & Education Center
  • Martin - Loogootee
  • Monroe - Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington
  • Owen - Owen County Community Foundation
  • Orange - Orange County Economic Development Partnership
  • Washington - Washington County Community Foundation Community Learning Center

Upon completion, Code/IT graduates are prepared to explore or continue education in several high-demand IT fields:

  • Web Development – foundational web technologies and design
  • Cybersecurity – system protection, risk management, and threat identification
  • Cloud Operations – cloud platforms, virtualization, and infrastructure management
  • Project Management – leading, coordinating, and delivering IT-related projects

Students may continue into Ivy Tech short-term certificate and two-year degree programs in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and other related areas.

About Code/IT Academy

This program is offered in partnership with The Mill, Regional Opportunity Initiatives (ROI), and Ivy Tech Community College, supported by a $1.37M READI grant to expand access to IT education and training in the Indiana Uplands region.
