Real Estate Broker Pre-licensing Training

The Indiana Real Estate Broker Pre-Licensing course is a 90-hour course, approved by the Indiana Real Estate Commission, and meets the state's education requirement to become a licensed real estate broker. It covers all topics outlined by Indiana law, including real estate principles, contracts, financing, property valuation, and state-specific license laws. Successful completion of this course fulfills the education requirement to sit for the Indiana broker licensing exam and is the first step toward earning your Indiana real estate license.

Knowledge

  • Identify the role, duties, and ethical responsibilities of licensed real estate brokers in Indiana.
  • Explain the purpose, structure, and regulatory authority of the Indiana Real Estate Commission.
  • Define and use key real estate terminology related to ownership, estates, interests, and land use rights.
  • Describe Indiana laws governing agency relationships, disclosures, contracts, advertising, and trust accounts.
  • Explain the essential components of real estate contracts, including purchase agreements, leases, listings, offers, and closing procedures.
  • Describe common financing instruments, loan types, and lending regulations applicable to Indiana real estate transactions.
  • Recognize principles of valuation and appraisal used to determine property value.
  • Explain the duties and responsibilities of property managers and the disclosure requirements for sellers and brokers.
  • Identify state and federal fair housing laws and professional standards of practice and ethics.

  • Apply real estate principles and practices to analyze property ownership, contracts, and transaction procedures.
  • Interpret and apply Indiana real estate law to ensure compliance with licensing, recordkeeping, and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Evaluate and prepare sample real estate documents, including listings, purchase agreements, and disclosures.
  • Use financial and valuation concepts to assess property value and financing options.
  • Demonstrate readiness for the Indiana Real Estate Broker Licensing Exam through application-based exercises and mock exams.

Employee registration is coordinated by the Program Manager supporting your training. Depending on the course, employees may register in person, through an organization-provided roster, or via a self-registration link.
