Asbestos Building Inspector (Initial)

Federal regulations require accredited professionals to conduct asbestos inspections in all buildings impacted by renovation or demolition activities including commercial, industrial, and K-12 facilities. This hands-on certification course prepares you to perform these inspections safely, accurately, and in full compliance with EPA and state requirements.

Participants will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to:

  • Understand asbestos health risks and regulatory requirements
  • Identify, classify, and assess ACM and PACM in a variety of building environments
  • Perform compliant building inspections
  • Collect samples using proper methods and PPE
  • Apply inspection protocols and analysis procedures
  • Prepare professional reports and maintain regulatory documentation

Fit-testing is included. Students are encouraged to bring their own P100 negative-pressure respirator if they would like it tested during class.

Employee registration is coordinated by the Program Manager supporting your training. Depending on the course, employees may register in person, through an organization-provided roster, or via a self-registration link. Your Program Manager will guide you through the best option for your specific training.
