This course introduces entry-level early childhood educators to the principles of child growth and development from birth through 5 years. Participants will examine physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development and learn how developmental stages influence learning and behavior. The course emphasizes observation, developmentally appropriate practices, and strategies for supporting each child’s individual needs. Students will also explore the role of families, culture, and environment in shaping healthy child development.
