For over a decade, the Al Huda Foundation, based in Fishers, has been a beacon of generosity for Ivy Tech Indianapolis students at Thanksgiving time. This year, the foundation continued its tradition by donating 25 Thanksgiving meal baskets to IvyCares, the campus initiative dedicated to supporting students facing challenges.
Each basket was thoughtfully curated, containing Thanksgiving staples like boxed sides, cooking oil, and a grocery store gift card for perishable items, including a turkey.
The aim? To ensure students and their families could enjoy a warm, festive meal together during the holiday season.
“The baskets are designed to make the holiday season a little brighter for students,” said Mary Louise Edwards, Director of IvyCares. “We’re deeply grateful to the Al Huda Foundation for their continued generosity. Their support ensures that Ivy Tech students and their families have a Thanksgiving filled with warmth, togetherness, and hope.”
On Monday and Tuesday, students visited the IvyCares office to collect their baskets. Along with their meals, they were invited to write heartfelt thank-you cards expressing their gratitude for Al Huda’s ongoing kindness.
This partnership between Al Huda and IvyCares exemplifies the spirit of community and compassion. For students navigating financial or personal hardships, the foundation’s unwavering support offers more than just food—it delivers a message of care and connection.
