Bloomington — Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington is the recipient of two Awards for Excellence in Career and Technical Education (CTE). The awards were presented by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education in a ceremony held on May 6.

Recognition awards highlight the achievements of CTE students, programs, partners, and counselors across the state who exemplify the qualities of and opportunities of Career and Technical Education.

Amelia Ward, design technology student, is the recipient of an Award for Excellence in the Postsecondary Student category. Ward is graduating with her associate degree in design technology and a certificate in architecture in May 2024. She is pursuing full-time employment in her field for after graduation and later plans to earn her bachelor’s in mechanical engineering.

Respiratory therapy is the recipient of an Award for Excellence in the Outstanding Postsecondary Program category. The program prepares graduates for work as licensed respiratory therapists in hospitals and medical offices across Indiana and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
