INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Ivy Tech Community College today announced leadership transitions for its Indianapolis and Richmond campuses as the College continues its search for a permanent chancellor for the Indianapolis campus.
Effective August 10, Dr. Chad Bolser will return to the Richmond campus after serving as Interim Chancellor of Ivy Tech Indianapolis. Bolser recently withdrew his candidacy for the permanent Indianapolis chancellor position and requested to return to Richmond in time to begin the academic year with the students, faculty, and staff on that campus.
"Dr. Bolser stepped into a critical leadership role during an important time for the Indianapolis campus, and we are grateful for his commitment to our students, employees, and community partners," said Ivy Tech President Dr. Marty Pollio. "We also appreciate his desire to return to Richmond as the academic year begins, where he has built strong relationships and will continue to advance the College's mission."
The College also announced that Steph Amos will become Interim Chancellor of the Indianapolis campus, effective August 10. Amos has successfully served in interim chancellor roles at two Ivy Tech campuses since May 2025, providing strong operational leadership and maintaining a steadfast focus on student success.
"Steph has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, collaboration, and a deep commitment to our students and employees," Pollio said. "Her experience leading campuses through periods of transition makes her exceptionally well-positioned to guide the Indianapolis campus while we complete our search."
To strengthen its recruitment efforts, Ivy Tech will partner with a national executive search firm to identify candidates for the Indianapolis chancellor position. The College expects to select a search firm and relaunch the recruitment process next month, with the goal of naming a permanent chancellor who will begin leading the campus at the start of the January semester.
The Indianapolis campus is Ivy Tech's largest campus. In 2025-2026, it served more than 39,000 students throughout central Indiana to prepare a highly skilled workforce.
