Students of the Pacifica Quartet to perform in Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center gallery on Monday

Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center is hosting free Chamber Music Mondays on April 8 and April 15 at 7 p.m. Student chamber ensembles coached by the Grammy Award-winning Pacifica Quartet at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music will perform only a few feet away from the audience in a high-ceilinged, acoustically robust, and artistic setting. The performance will take place in the Rosemary Miller Gallery.

“With these performing opportunities for our student chamber groups out in the community alongside their coachings, master classes, and performances at the Jacobs School, we hope to prepare our students for careers as musicians in the 21st century,” said the Pacifica Quartet. “In the changing musical climate we live in, we need to arm them with tools to not only reach their full potential as artists but to also communicate with a variety of audiences and communities.”

The performance will feature a student string chamber ensemble coached by the Pacific Quartet presenting a diverse selection of chamber music repertoire. The Pacifica Quartet presently coaches 33 string chamber groups at the Jacobs School.

Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center is handicapped accessible. The entrance and elevator are available at the Fourth Street door.
