New Student Orientation: Do I have to participate?
All students pursuing a degree are required to attend New Student Orientation before registering for classes. Students who do not intend to seek a degree are also encouraged to attend. The 2½ - 3 hour orientation program is offered at various times and locations. For more information, or to register, click on the campus of your choice below.
Students must make a reservation to attend orientation and can do so online by clicking here. If you are not able to make your reservation online, please use the contact information below to receive assistance. All orientations are held at the Bloomington Main Campus at 200 Daniels Way.

New student orientation is scheduled after a student has completed an Application for Admission and been assessed for placement. See the steps to enroll to ensure you are ready to sign up for New Student orientation. New student orientation is by appointment only.
Please call the location you wish to attend to schedule your new Student Orientation.
* Students wishing to pursue Nursing programs (RN or LPN) must attend New Student Orientation at Columbus and must attend a mandatory pre-nursing information session which begins one hour prior to the start listed time of the New Student Orientation.
Please note that you must be on-time for the orientation!

If you were admitted to Ivy Tech Community College on or after July 1, 2010, and are pursuing a degree you are required to complete the college's New Student Orientation program prior to registering for classes. What You Need To Know:
Orientation is mandatory for all new degree seeking students at Ivy Tech Community College. Sessions are offered, at no cost to the student, at Anderson, Marion and Muncie locations. You must follow the guidelines below:
* You must complete an application for admissions to the College. This can be done on-line at http://www.ivytech.edu/apply-now/.
* You must have completed your assessment steps prior to attending Orientation.
This means that you need to have completed the COMPASS test, have the appropriate
SAT or ACT scores, or equivalent college credit/substitution.
* Only those pre-registered for a session will be admitted. Scheduling your New Student Orientation is done with a Student Success Assistant at your campus.
* You must have your completed homework assignment you received from the Student Success Assistant/Generalist or you will need to reschedule.
* You must be able to stay for the entire session.
* Orientation will last about 2.5 to 3 hours
* You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start time to check in. Arriving late will require you to reschedule.
* If you cannot attend, you should cancel your reservation via the confirmation e-mail you received and then contact the Student Success Assistant at your campus to reschedule.
* Due to the length of the session and limited space available, children, parents, spouses, and friends are not permitted at New Student Orientation.

Online New Student Orientation:
The online New Student Orientation should only be completed by the following: students who have attended Ivy Tech previously, students who are transfer students from other colleges or universities or students who have received special permission from the Assistant Director of Orientation and Student Success. Students who are new to college should attend the in-person New Student Orientation.
Before completing the online New Student Online Orientation, please read the following instructions.
1. The orientation takes approximately one hour to complete, including pre- and post-tests.
2. You must complete the orientation in one sitting.
3. You will not be able to save and return to the orientation at a later date.
4. You will need your student ID number (C#) during the orientation. Be sure you have this number ready prior to beginning the orientation.
