Public Safety Academy: Ivy Tech South Campus joins the college's Coliseum and North campuses in a renewed commitment to the region. Through an agreement, Ivy Tech-Northeast will sublease all 132,000-square feet of the PSA. The college will assume all management until the bonds that financed the building's construction are retired in 2022. Once the construction debt is paid off, Ivy Tech-Northeast will own the building. The plan preserves the PSA's public safety mission, while eliminating cost contributions from the city, with the exception of subleasing approximately 43,000-square feet each year from the college to maintain Fort Wayne's police and fire academies. Ivy Tech-Northeast will expand its academic outreach, with an increased emphasis on serving the city's south side and nearby Adams, Huntington, Whitley and Wells counties.
