The following six degrees/certificates are awarded by the College to students who meet graduation requirements.
Calculation of academic honors, if listed for publication in the graduation ceremony program, will be as of the semester prior to graduation. Honors recorded on the transcript will include the graduation term in the calculation.

Do you plan to attend Spring Commencement Ceremony?
All Fall 2013, Spring 2014, and Summer 2014 graduates should fill out the (on-line) Graduation Request to participate in the Commencement Ceremony. For those desiring to participate in Commencement, the application must be submitted by February 15, 2014 for the graduate's name to appear in the Commencement program. Students will find the Graduation Request Form at Campus Connect by clicking on "APPLY TO GRADUATE."
Checklist for Graduation
Diplomas
Students do not need to pick up diplomas. Diplomas are mailed to students after grades are reported to the Registrar's Office, and Program Chairs certify that students meet requirements for graduation. This process normally takes a minimum of eight to ten weeks after the end of the semester.
Date and Location
The Commencement Ceremony for Ivy Tech Community College - Central Indiana is Saturday, May 10, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at the Indiana Convention Center, 100 S Capitol.
Students who will complete their degree requirements during the Summer 2014 semester may participate in the Commencement Ceremony.
Commencement Day
Graduates should arrive at Hall H in the Indiana Convention Center no later than 1:00 p.m. to line up for the processional. Signs will indicate the location of your school and program.
Be sure to leave all valuables, including purses and coats, with friends or family prior to the 1:00 p.m. line-up. Ivy Tech is not responsible for items left in the Indiana Convention Center.
The Ceremony
The Commencement Ceremony lasts approximately 2 1/2 hours. Graduates' names will be announced as students cross the stage to be recognized. Family and friends are welcomed to attend.
Ordering Caps, Gowns, and Announcements
Order caps, gowns, and announcements at the Follett Bookstore at the North Meridian or Fairbanks Center. Sales begin on TBA.
Caps and gowns will arrive at the Follett Bookstores in early April. A limited number of caps and gowns will be available for last-minute purchase until TBA for those who did not order in advance. Supplies are not guaranteed.

Appropriate Attire
Women should wear a dress or skirt outfit and low-heeled, dark shoes. Men should wear slacks, shirt, tie, and dark shoes. Please iron or steam your robe before arriving for the ceremony.
Hotel Accommodations
The Indianapolis Marriott Downtown is offering a special rate of $129/night for May 10, 11, or 12 to Ivy Tech graduates and their families. The hotel is connected to the Convention Center via the Skywalk. Honor Graduates
Only honor students who participate in the graduation
ceremony will receive Ivy Tech honor cords. Cords are provided
at rehearsal and will be available in the students robing area
prior to the ceremony.
Note: Graduating with honor cords is based on your Fall 2012
GPA, regardless of when the degree requirements are met.
Notice to members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK): YOU MAY WEAR
ONLY ONE ITEM OF HONOR RECOGNITION DURING GRADUATION. You may
choose to wear PTK honors cords or the PTK honors stole or Ivy
Tech honor cords. You may not wear the PTK gold tassels. Please
check with your PTK advisor for information regarding Phi Theta
Kappa honor apparel.

The 2013 graduation ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Purdue University, Elliott Hall. The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. (EST).
North Central (Elkhart, South Bend, Warsaw)
The 2013 Graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the University of Notre Dame Joyce Center. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm (EST).
Below is information that can help you as you prepare for Commencement.
There is no rehearsal for commencement ceremonies.
There is no limit to the number of guests you may invite to attend.
Do not wear shoes that make it difficult to walk, as you will be walking a lot, including up and down a ramp.
Please arrive at the Pavilion by 5:00 pm. (doors open to graduates at 4:30 pm.)
There is no admission fee or cost for parking for the ceremony.
There is no place to keep personal belongings during the ceremony. Please leave purses and other personal items with a friend or family member during the ceremony, or leave the items at home.
When you arrive, someone will direct you to the appropriate place to line up. Graduates will line up by school.
By the time you are ready to line up with your group, you should be dressed in your cap and gown. There is no separate dressing room for graduates.
You will be led into the arena for the processional.
You will sit in the same order in which you line up—by school.
You will be directed to the front when it is time for you to receive your diploma.

Honors recognition at the commencement ceremony is based on the student's cumulative GPA from the Fall semester. Actual honors recognition will be recorded on the student's academic transcript posted with the degree earned.

Graduates must arrive by 6pm.
Wear comfortable, but appropriate shoes (no flip flops, please), as we will be standing for at least an hour prior to the ceremony.
Students participating in the Commencement ceremony and receiving academic honors will be notified 2 weeks prior to the ceremony to pick up their honors cord in the Registrar’s Office. Academic honors for the ceremony are awarded to students earning an overall gpa of 3.5 or higher at the end of the fall 2012 semester.
