What is the Grasshopper Food Truck?
The Grasshopper is a learning lab for students in the Hospitality Administration program. Each summer, a group of faculty and students prepares meals for the College and the public to enjoy, and the students gain credits and experience for participating.
Where did the Grasshopper get its name?
Ivy Tech students, employees, and community members all submitted names they thought would fit the food truck when it first started in 2017. Out of 576 entries, the winning name was submitted by a student in the Healthcare Specialist program. "Grasshopper" was chosen because it's a term often used to refer to a novice in any area, and it also serves as a nod to Ivy Tech's school colors.
Does the Grasshopper cater?
The Grasshopper is no longer able to cater to the public. However, anyone is welcome to stop by Coliseum Campus during summer operating hours to enjoy delicious food at affordable prices. The truck parks in the North parking lot (facing Coliseum Blvd) outside doors 24 and 25.
