Walk along the picturesque waterways that inspired the likes of Rembrandt and Seurat.

Start at the River Amstel, whose palette changes from residential to rural in a few short steps. Three hundred miles downstream, it’s the serpentine River Seine that winds wildly through France to give Paris its charm. Then cross the channel to find historic London. 

The trip includes round-trip airfare from Chicago’s O’Hare airport, all accommodations, on-tour transportation, some regional meals, full-time tour director, expert local guides, guided site-seeing, and tickets to all scheduled events/sites.

London: Cultural Experience

Ivy Tech Terre Haute is planning a 10-day learning adventure to London. 
Students, faculty, and community members, are all invited on this travel/study opportunity led by Dr. Scott Powell, (Ph.D. Cultural Studies). London, England, is not only one of the most important centers for global commerce, it is a city full of diversity, history and culture. In this experience, students will visit the museums and see iconic places such as Big Ben, the London Eye, the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Parliament, the famous Buckingham Palace, and much more. 

The trip cost includes transportation to and from Indianapolis; round-trip flight; and accommodations. Travelers will learn more information on the itinerary, optional trip to Bath and Stonehenge, and academic requirements for earning credit through orientation and trip preparation meetings in the future.

The Grand Tour of Italy is exactly that. Grand. From Venice’s endless canals to each Roman piazza, Italy has no shortage of awe-inspiring sights. You’ll see Doge’s Palace pale façade change color at sunset, stroll over the Bridge of Sighs and explore the ruins of the ancient Roman Forum on this show stopping tour of Italian culture.

Credits: Student will take a three credit Introduction to Philosophy course (PHIL 101)

During this 21-day adventure, students will have an opportunity to study philosophy, and see the world!!!

Students will experience a broad spectrum of Korean culture through museums, temples, natural wonders, electrifying cities, and a culinary experience Anthony Bourdain describes as “delicious and exciting; what the cool kids want.” The program is designed to give students an in-depth look at three uniquely different cities, each with their own natural attractions, cultures, foods, and regional accents. Excursions may include the DMZ (demilitarized zone), Seoul Tower, the Korean National Theatre, Namsangoi Hanok Village, various temples, shrines and palaces, SM Town (home of K-pop), Seongeup Folk Village, Tea Museum, Arts Park, Dragonhead Shore, hands-on arts and crafts centers, Seoul Animation Center, and natural terrain from coastal sea towns to mountainous basins to underground lava caves.

The program is academic in nature and students will be required to participate in all scheduled classes, and related activities. Classes will be held four days per week for three hours each day in the morning followed by subject-specific assignments to be completed in the afternoons.  This program is offered through a partnership with the Tennessee Consortium for International Studies.
