Nationally Recognized Program

The Ivy Tech Industrial Technology program is proud to hold various industry certifications and accreditations from nationally recognized organizations. The program includes a Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA)-certified testing location and is accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). Additionally, many Ivy Tech instructors are certified by the American Welding Society (AWS)Fuji Automatic Numerical Control (FANUC), Siemens, MSSC and SACA.

Together, these recognitions provide students with training in the best of environments with highly qualified instruction.

Program Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic material principles and concepts that impact the Industrial Technology industry.
  • Utilize electrical/mechanical troubleshooting and communication skills to diagnose, repair, test, and return failed components to service.
  • Describe the hazards associated with mechanical equipment and apply appropriate safety methods for working around industrial machinery
  • Collaborate effectively with others to plan, contribute to, and complete tasks as part of a technical team.
  • Identify, analyze, and apply appropriate tools and techniques to solve defined technical problems.
  • Develop and deliver clear written, oral, and graphical communications in both technical and general contexts; locate and interpret technical documents and standards.
  • Assess personal learning needs and engage in self-directed strategies to support ongoing professional growth.
  • Demonstrate ethical judgment and professional responsibility in technical and workplace environments.
