Ivy Tech Community College’s Start as a Sophomore program, also known as the Indiana College Core, prepares you for a successful start to your associate degree with Ivy Tech and your bachelor's degree.

Formerly known as the Gen Ed Transfer Program, Start as A Sophomore allows you to begin your time at Ivy Tech with a 30-credit hour block that transfers to all other public four-year colleges in Indiana. The curriculum of these core classes is the same at Ivy Tech as the other institutions, but the tuition rate is less.

Ivy Tech transfer opportunities

The Start as a Sophomore program enables a student who satisfactorily completes an approved program of general education to transfer that coursework to the following Indiana state educational institutions as a block of 30 credit hours toward the general education core requirements. 

Start as a Sophomore credits transfer to all public four-year colleges in Indiana.
