The Mechanical Engineering Technology (METC) Program at Ivy Tech Community College is a great opportunity for those who enjoy hands-on experiences. Curriculum in this program allows students to learn about materials, testing, and design. They will also learn skills such as synthesizing, improving and implementing mechanical designs. Students will gain a necessary understanding in order to support engineering processes such as collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
Our program prepares students to transfer to a four year engineering technology program at universities such as Purdue or IUPUI. At these universities students will be able to enhance their technology, science, and math skills to work with engineers and other technicians. Areas of work entry include design, manufacturing, transportation, computer and electronics.
The Associate of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Ivy Tech is a transfer single articulation pathways (TSAP) program that provides a clear pathway for graduates to transfer to a four-year institution to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
