The Terre Haute Bowen Scholars program, modeled after the Indianapolis Bowen Scholars program, aims to provide an environment for students with like experiences to create a peer support group, aiding each other through their academic journeys at Ivy Tech Terre Haute. Scholars will receive the following benefits:
- Mentoring and tutoring with the Bowen Scholars Coordinator
- Monthly programming to support professional development and overall growth
- $1,250 living stipend per semester in the program, effective Spring 2025 semester.
The Bowens Scholar program takes a holistic approach to student success and supports individual student needs. Scholars will be challenged to reflect on and analyze their own learning strategies, study skills, and other professional skills that will help them succeed in the classroom and beyond.
Participation in the Program will be awarded to selected Ivy Tech applicants for a maximum of four (4) continuous semesters (not including summer terms) or two (2) years, provided they maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA. Scholars will receive a $250 monthly disbursement as a living stipend upon participation in the monthly programming ($2,500/year or $1,250/semester), automatically renewable for a second year, given they maintain good academic standing.
