Important Update: North Meridian Center Issue at Indianapolis Campus
On April 20, 2026, the College received notification of positive test results for asbestos in the North Meridian Center (NMC) building on the Indianapolis campus. The testing was done as part of ongoing construction work to the building.
As of 5 pm on April 20, 2026, the NMC building was closed. Classes in the building were moved to virtual instruction, and employees were instructed to either work remotely or coordinate with their supervisor to find another work location.
Other immediate actions taken included:
- The affected area was immediately isolated
- Licensed environmental professionals are engaged
- Air quality testing is underway and/or has been conducted
Additional testing and remediation is currently in progress. There is not a definitive timeline yet for when the work will be done, and the building will reopen.
