Employee health:
The health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff are important to us. Based on current information, any potential exposure would have been brief and low-level. Health experts, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Cancer Institute (NCI), indicate that short-term, low-level exposure to asbestos is unlikely to result in health effects.

However, if you believe you may have been exposed and are experiencing symptoms or would like an evaluation, please take the following steps:

Complete an Employee Accident Report. If you cannot complete the report, your supervisor can complete it on your behalf.

  • Call the 24/7 Nurse Triage Line at 844-454-1143 for evaluation options.
  • Communicate your status to your supervisor and HR immediately following the nurse triage call and/or any visit to a treatment facility.
    • If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 immediately.

If you have questions, please contact Fred Parker (Indianapolis HR) at fparker11@ivytech.edu.
