Free tutoring services are available to students at the Columbus, Franklin, and Shelbyville campuses.
Tutors are ready to work with you on campus or virtually and can provide insight on course content as well as a variety of success strategies.

On-Campus Tutoring
On-campus tutoring is located in the Columbus Academic Resource Center (ARC) at the Columbus Learning Center University Library, 4555 Central Ave, Columbus, IN 47203.
ARC provides math, science, writing, and other academic assistance. Its knowledgeable tutors can provide assistance for nearly any class offered at Ivy Tech Columbus.
No appointment is necessary and drop-ins for tutoring services are welcome, but ARC recommends checking the schedule posted in the ARC to ensure that a tutor in your subject will be available at the desired time.
Online Tutoring
Online tutoring for Ivy Tech Columbus, Franklin, and Shelbyville is also available via Brainfuse in student courses in IvyLearn.
Brainfuse is an online, 24-hour tutoring service, free to Ivy Tech students. It connects you with an expert tutor the minute you need help. It’s easy to use and can be accessed from any internet-enabled computer or mobile device.
As an Ivy Tech student, you get 25 free hours of online tutoring through Brainfuse. each term that you are actively enrolled in Ivy Tech courses. If you use all of your allotted tutoring hours, you can request additional time by contacting online-tutoring-requests@ivytech.edu.
Brainfuse also offer live writing help, drop-off essay review, test prep, ESOL writing support, and more.
How to Access Online Tutoring

Connect to Brainfuse from the main page of your IvyLearn profile. You’ll be automatically logged into your account.

In the Live Help box, select your topic and subject, then click Connect. You can also select Tutoring Schedule or Preferences to manage your selection.

During your tutoring session, you will have access to the Brainfuse Whiteboard, which provides tools that make it easy to work with your tutor. You’ll have options to share your screen, upload files, send messages, and more.
