We recognize that everyone learns in different ways.  For that reason, training on IvyLearn will be conducted using a mix of self-paced web content, online webinars and on campus face-to-face training.

Self-Paced & Self-Exploration

For those who want a self-paced online web course this exceptional Self-Paced course from the company that built Canvas is a great use of your time.  For instructors new to Ivy Tech (or for those who wish to recertify specifically in IvyLearn) we will begin offering ILRN 101 - a replacement for BBRD 101 in March, 2017.

If you want to explore topics on your own consider reviewing the Canvas Guides and joining the Canvas Community.  In addition to the global Canvas Community, Ivy Tech has a private Canvas Community that we also encourage you to join.  The private community will house cheat sheets, answers to frequently asked questions and much more!

Instructor Led Webinars

On this page you can browse the calendar of all Statewide Training webinars (note all times are eastern in the calendar below).  To see a description and the registration link for that training session you can click the name of event in the calendar below.  If you'd prefer to browse by session title, scroll down to see descriptions of each webinar and to register (use the quick links here to jump directly to the section of the page describing that type of session). Check back frequently for updates and additions.  Not able to attend a session?  Recordings of webinars will be added to this page within 7 days following the last scheduled session of that event.

Function Junction

Function junction sessions provide quick introductions to short introductory tasks in IvyLearn.  These sessions are normally no more than 30 minutes in length, but they are one hit wonders - catch them once and then they are gone (don't worry though - we love to listen to ourselves sing in the shower so we'll always a recording within seven days after each session!).

Intended audience:

  • Faculty & staff who want a quick view of something and then want to explore it mostly on their own.
  • Faculty & staff who may already have experience with Canvas (the tool that powers IvyLearn) at another institution but who want a brief introduction to a feature perhaps not used at the other institution.
  • Faculty & staff who prefer shorter learning segments and then time to explore and test things independently.
