Students in the Engineering Technology program will become skilled technicians who will work with engineers and other technicians to design, implement and support engineering processes. Students will learn about collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data and troubleshooting complex systems in all courses.
As a transfer degree, the Engineering Technology program is designed to prepare students for continuing their education in a bachelor’s degree program in a wide range of engineering technology specialties including electrical, mechanical, civil, industrial and chemical engineering technology.
Graduates of the Engineering Technology program will have two options. Students will develop the science, technology, engineering and math skills needed to enter the workforce as an engineering technician, or they can transfer to a four-year engineering technology program. Our graduates have continued their education at Purdue University statewide programs, Indiana State University, Indiana Tech and Trine University.
If you would like to continue your education after completing your Ivy Tech degree, we have several four-year transfer partnerships in place. Talk to your transfer advocate for more information about transfer opportunities!
