Safety Training for Construction Workers

The OSHA 10-Hour Construction course introduces workers to the most common hazards found on construction sites and provides the foundational safety knowledge required under OSHA�s construction standards (29 CFR 1926). This course emphasizes worker rights, employer responsibilities, and the identification and prevention of jobsite hazards.

Topics include:

  • Focus Four Construction Hazards (falls, electrocution, struck-by, caught-in/between)
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ladder and scaffold safety
  • Excavation and trenching basics
  • Tool safety
  • Hazard communication
  • Health hazards in construction (silica, noise, chemicals)

Participants receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction completion card upon finishing all required training hours.

Upon successful completion of the OSHA 10-Hour Construction course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify common hazards on construction sites
  • Explain worker rights under OSHA 29 CFR 1926
  • Apply basic hazard prevention and control methods
  • Recognize the purpose and proper use of PPE
  • Understand safe practices for hand tools, power tools, ladders, and scaffolds
  • Describe basic requirements for fall protection, electrical safety, and hazard communication

Depending on where this class is offered, it could be available in English or Spanish. Course completers will receive a 10-hour card from OSHA.
