The NIMS CNC Operator program prepares students for entry-level CNC Operator/Machinist roles. Students learn key foundational principles and practices of CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) machine operation, giving them the skills and knowledge needed to successfully work in manufacturing environments. The course covers how to safely and properly use tooling, fixtures, and precision measurement devices with respect to CNC Parts and CNC machining centers. Through a mix of lectures, labs, online simulations, programming, testing, and a formal Credentialing Achievement Record, students are prepared to pass NIMS CNC Operator Certification Level 1. The certification is backed by NIMS, an organization that establishes industry standards, proven training frameworks, and processes that dynamically respond to our technology-driven economy.
