Upon successful completion of the Lead Risk Assessor Initial course, participants will be able to:
Demonstrate proficiency in:
- Methods for identifying lead, lead-based paint (LBP), and LBP hazards
- Clearance requirements and techniques for conducting compliant clearance examinations
- Federal, state, and local regulations governing LBP inspections and risk assessments
- Legal liabilities and responsibilities associated with LBP work
Hands-on training will cover:
- Planning and conducting a full lead-based paint risk assessment
- Safely collecting paint chip samples
- Conducting dust wipe sampling and performing clearance examinations
- Applying field procedures in real target housing environments during a supervised site visit
