Although OSHA does not require licensing, it does require that workers, competent persons, and inspectors receive annual refresher training equivalent to the EPA-approved training courses. These courses do fulfill all OSHA requirements.
The Institute's approved refresher courses bring you up-to-date on changes in federal, state, and local regulations, provide details on state-of-the-art work practices, review the basic information included in the initial accreditation course, and offer participants an opportunity to raise questions and discuss common concerns with other asbestos professionals.
To remain licensed/accredited to conduct asbestos abatement, inspections, or to prepare management plans, you must complete an approved refresher course in each specialty. The Institute courses are accepted in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and in all states that accept EPA-approved courses.
