Upon successful completion of this refresher course, participants will be able to:
- Explain recent updates to federal, state, and local asbestos regulations affecting abatement activities.
- Review and reinforce core concepts from the initial Asbestos Abatement Worker training, including safe handling, removal, and cleanup of ACM.
- Apply current best practices in engineering controls, containment, decontamination, and waste handling for asbestos abatement projects.
- Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and updated safety protocols required for worker protection.
- Identify common job-site challenges and select appropriate work methods to maintain regulatory compliance and minimize exposure risk.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, competent persons, and other job-site personnel regarding hazards, procedures, and safety expectations.
- Demonstrate continued competency by achieving the required passing score on the refresher examination.
