 The first step is to submit your FREE Ivy Tech application. The process is easy - you don’t need a certain test score, GPA, or class rank to get started at Ivy Tech. Applying takes just a few minutes and can be completed entirely online.

The Ivy Tech application is free and should only take about 10-15 minutes to complete. At the end of the application, you will have the opportunity to upload assessment documents - such as SAT/ACT/PSAT scores or high school and college transcripts - that demonstrate your college readiness. Don't have any of these documents? Don’t worry! Just go ahead and submit your application. There are several different ways to complete assessment, which will be explained in more detail in your acceptance packet. This helps us make sure you are taking classes that are the right fit for you.


We will accept any of the following:

SAT scores of 25 or higher in reading, 27 or higher in writing and language, and 500 or higher in math on tests taken within the last four years.  *Scores may vary depending on the year the SAT was completed. 
ACT scores of 17 in English, and 18 in reading and math or higher on test taken within the last four years
PSAT scores of 26 in writing, 25 in reading and 24.5 in math* or higher on tests taken within the last four years. *Scores may vary in math depending on the year the PSAT was completed. 
High school GPA of 2.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale after six completed semesters (if still in high school) or at graduation with a Core 40, Technical Honors or Academic Honors or equivalent within the last four years
College transcript if you have already earned college credits in English or math, or been awarded an associate degree or higher at another college or university. International students will still need to supply a NACES approved transcript.

The documents you upload do not need to be official. Formats we accept include .doc, .docx, .jpg, .jpeg, .pdf, .png, .tif .tiff.

We’ll also accept a digital photo of your transcripts and test scores—although the following items must be visible:

  • Your name
  • The name of your institution (for transcripts)
  • Degree awarded (for transcripts)
  • Date of test (must be within the last four years)
  • Test scores
  • Course work and GPA

Are you an international student?

Welcome! After you apply, please visit the International Students site for help completing your enrollment and registration.

Admissions applications are valid for two years and are applicable to all Ivy Tech Community College campuses. If you need to change any information on your admissions application or if you have questions, please contact the Admissions Office at your Ivy Tech location.
