TERRE HAUTE, Ind. Ivy Tech Community College Terre Haute is proud to announce Ben Kappes as our newest Employer Consultant for Ivy+ Career Link. In this role, Kappes will work closely with local employers and community partners to connect businesses with the talent, training, and resources they need to grow and succeed.
Ivy+ Career Link serves as a vital connection point between education and industry, helping regional employers address workforce needs while supporting students and job seekers in finding meaningful career pathways. They help companies invest in their workforce while strengthening the region’s talent pipeline through services such as customized training, talent recruitment, and upskilling opportunities. In addition, Ivy+ Career Link supports companies’ long-term success through initiatives like apprenticeships and Achieve Your Degree, which is Ivy Tech’s employer-sponsored tuition assistance program.
“Employer Consultants play a critical role in strengthening the connection between our community and the workforce,” said David Will, executive director of Ivy+ Career Link. “By working directly with local businesses, they help identify skill gaps, develop training solutions, and connect employers with the talented students and graduates coming out of Ivy Tech programs.”
Prior to joining Ivy Tech, Kappes spent 18 years at Indiana State University serving in leadership roles across residential life, student activities, and the alumni association. During that time, he led numerous initiatives focused on student development and engagement.
“I’m excited to join Ivy Tech and work alongside employers throughout West Central Indiana,” said Kappes. “Our goal is to ensure businesses have access to the skilled workforce they need while creating opportunities for students and community members to grow their careers right here in our region.”
