The Ivy Tech Indianapolis IvyCares team is now accepting donations to the campus pantry for the Spring Cleaning Drive through May 11. 

At Ivy Tech Indy, our IvyCares program is a vital lifeline for students in need, providing a secure, no-cost way to access a supplemental food pantry stocked with basic sanitary items, a clothing closet, and resources for mental health, transportation, housing, and technology support.

The Indianapolis campus community generously supports students and their families continuously throughout the year through clothing, water bottle and gift drives. This spring is no different, as we seek to stock the pantry with essential cleaning supplies students need to clean their living spaces. 

“April and May are all about new life and clearing things out—so as you refresh your own space, grab a few extra items and make an impact,” Mary-Louise Edwards, the director of IvyCares, said. “These aren’t extras. These are basic needs. And too many students are going without them.”

Here’s what IvyCares is collecting this drive:

  • Disinfectant wipes

  • Multi-purpose cleaners

  • Laundry detergent

  • Sponges

  • Paper towels

  • Bleach

  • Toilet bowl cleaner

  • Toilet paper 

All donations can be dropped off at the IvyCares office, which is currently located in the North Meridian Center (50 W. Fall Creek Pkwy. N. Dr.) in room 414. Its hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If they are closed, you can place items in the brown box situated outside the office door. 

If you want an easier option, you can skip the store and support IvyCares directly through its Amazon Wish List. 

“Every donation helps a student maintain a clean, healthy environment—and that directly impacts their ability to focus, stay in school, and succeed. Don’t sit this one out. Step up and be part of something that matters,” Edwards shared.
