On Wednesday, Ivy Tech Indianapolis’ Student Life and IvyCares teams hosted the Basic Needs Resource Fair, bringing together 19 community organizations—including the Immigrant Welcome Center, United Way, PACE, Gleaners Food Bank, EmployIndy, and others—to connect students with vital support services.

More than 100 students attended the event, engaging with vendors who provided information on rental and utility assistance, food access, employment opportunities, workshops, and more. Students also enjoyed hourly raffles between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., culminating in a grand prize drawing for an electric bike, generously donated by the INDT 260 – Projects in Manufacturing class. Congratulations to Noah, an Ivy Tech student and the lucky winner of the bike!

Looking ahead, IvyCares and Student Life will host the Mental Health Resource Fair on November 18 at Ivy Tech Fairbanks in Lawrence from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.. With 10 vendors already confirmed, this event will focus on connecting students to mental health and wellness resources available in the Lawrence community.

Together, we’re building a stronger, more supported student community—one resource at a time.
