INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) is donating two fire engines and numerous fire training tools to Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis, a gift that will enhance hands-on learning for students in the Homeland Security and Public Safety program.

The donation will be celebrated at a presentation event on Thursday, September 4, from 3-4 p.m. at the Ivy Tech Public Safety Technology Training Center, 9530 E. 59th Street, Bldg. B, Indianapolis. Leaders from both Ivy Tech and IFD will attend the event.

The fire engines and training tools will be integrated into coursework to give students real-world experience as they prepare for careers in public safety, emergency response, and homeland security. Ivy Tech’s Public Safety Technology Training Center offers specialized facilities and curriculum designed to meet the growing demand for highly trained professionals in the field.
