Bloomington— Graduates from Eastern Greene High School earned credentials from Ivy Tech Community College’s Bloomington campus in May 2021. Eleven graduates earned the Indiana College Core certificate, a block of 30 credit hours that transfers to all public Indiana four-year institutions, upon student acceptance. The Indiana College Core certificate option is for students who intend to complete bachelor’s degrees, allowing them to save time and money on college costs.

“We are incredibly proud of our Seniors and all their accomplishments,” said Eric Kirkendall, principal at Eastern Greene High School. “Our Seniors who have taken advantage of the [Ivy Tech] early college program have created so many opportunities for themselves. I look forward to seeing them explore their potential as young adults.”

Michelle Tarr, Eastern Greene High School graduate, who graduated in the top ten of her class and was selected as an Academic All-State Honorable Mention for Varsity Basketball plans to further her education in Fall 2021. “I plan to attend Indiana State University with a major in computer science and a minor in mathematics,” she said. “Ivy Tech dual credit allowed me to get a head start on my Bachelor’s degree.”
